Weekly Wonders!

17th January 2020

It has been a very busy week at Isaac Newton School, exploring a variety of topics from Hansel and Gretel to the Stone Ages!

Year 1 have been getting creative, printing shapes and designing stained glass windows. They have also been working on their descriptions of the witch from Hansel and Gretel.

How would you feel if you met the witch? Well, Year 2 have introduced their ‘Emotions Wall’, allowing children to move their character across the emotions to describe how they feel. Class 6 were also proud to announce that reading has taken place 47 times in their classroom this week!

There has been an influx of fabulous homework projects arrive in Year 3 since the start of the week as the children explore the Stone Ages. Do you fancy a trip to the Stone Age Restaurant?!

Year 4 transported to Brazil where they experienced samba-style drumming. The picture below shows them learning the rhythm and the beat.

Meanwhile, Upper Key Stage 2 have been exploring fossils and Year 5 are extremely excited to become palaeontologists next week when they start to excavate some artefacts!

Finally, take a look at these fantastic creations by children in Year 6 who have been exploring mountains.
